Can A Felon Vote In New Mexico?
Individuals convicted of a felony are ineligible to vote while in prison, on parole, or on probation. Voting rights are automatically restored upon completion of all supervised release. Ex-offenders should re-register to vote.

You have the right to vote if you are serving time for a civil matter or misdemeanor. You also have a right to register from jail by using a mail-in ballot. If you lose your voting rights as the result of a conviction for a felony, your electoral privileges will be reinstated once your parole, probation or sentence is completed.
How Can A Felon in New Mexico Restore Their Voting Rights
If you meet the above criteria as a felon, then here are the other requirements before you can register to vote:
You are eligible to vote in New Mexico if you:
Are a U.S citizen
Are a resident of New Mexico
Are at least 18 years old by Election Day
You are NOT eligible to vote in New Mexico if:
You have been legally declared “mentally incompetent” by a court
You are on parole for a felony conviction or convicted of a felony
You may preregister to vote in New Mexico
if you will be 18 by Election Day
To register to vote in New Mexico you should provide:
Your New Mexico Driver’s License or State ID Number (online applicants only)
Your Social Security Number
If you live at a non-traditional address, you must include a drawing or map of your location
If you are registering to vote for the first time by mail, you will need to provide a copy of a valid ID. Acceptable forms of ID include:
Current and Valid Photo ID
Valid Tribal ID
Government Issued Document that shows your current name and address
Valid Student ID
Utility Bill, Bank Statement, Government Check, or Paycheck that Shows your current name and address
You can alternatively show one of these documents when you vote to complete your registration.
Voting In-Person
If you registered to vote in New Mexico, you may be required to present valid ID if you are voting for the first time or your registration is incomplete. You can use any ID from this list:
A Verbal or Written Statement with your Name, Address and Date of Birth
Paycheck that shows your Current Name and Address
Current and Valid Photo ID
Utility Bill
Bank Statement
Government Check
Government Issued Document that shows your Current Name and Address
Valid Tribal ID
You may carry the original or a copy of your ID.
