Individuals convicted of a felony are ineligible to vote while in prison, on parole, or on probation. Voting rights are automatically restored upon completion of all supervised release. Ex-offenders should re-register to vote.

How Can A Felon in Wisconsin Restore Their Voting Rights

If you meet the above criteria as a felon, then here are the other requirements before you can register to vote:
You are eligible to vote in Wisconsin if you:
Are a U.S citizen
Are a resident of Wisconsin
Are at least 18 years old by Election Day
Live in the precinct where you vote for at least 10 days prior to the election
You are NOT eligible to vote in Wisconsin if:
You are in prison or detention or jail or penal institution
You are on parole for a felony conviction or convicted of a felony
You are otherwise disqualified from voting
You are currently serving a sentence including incarceration, parole, probation, or extended supervision for a felony conviction
To register to vote in Wisconsin you should provide:
Your Wisconsin Driver’s License or State/non-driver ID Number
If you do not have these IDs, you may provide:
The Last Four Digits of your Social Security Number
In order to complete your voter registration in Wisconsin, you will need to provide a copy of a valid ID. Accepted IDs include:
Valid Student ID accompanied by tuition receipt
Valid Student ID accompanied by on-campus housing listing that denotes US Citizenship
Property Tax Bill or Receipt dated within the current year or within a year prior to the election date
Utility Bill not older than 90 days
Letter from a homeless organization verifying your residence location for purposes of voter registration
Lease (exception: not valid for registration by mail)
ID Card
Valid Employee ID with photo
Government Issued Document that shows your current name and address
Valid issued ID
Valid Driver’s License except one issued to an individual that is not a United States citizen
Bank Statement, Paycheck or Government Check
Voting In-Person
In Wisconsin, you need to show a valid ID to vote. You can use any ID from this list:
Valid Wisconsin Driver’s License
Valid US Passport
Valid ID Issued by the Wisconsin Department of Motor Vehicles, Transportation, Highway Safety, etc.
Valid Tribal ID
Valid Military ID
If you do not have an ID from the above list, in Wisconsin additional, acceptable forms of ID include:
Driving Receipt Issued by DOT not more than 45 Days before Election
Valid Student ID Issued not less than two years after Date of Issuance accompanied by Separate Document to Prove Enrollment
Certificate of Naturalization Dated no earlier than two years prior to the Date of the Election
Citation or Notice of Intent to Suspend Wisconsin Issued Driver License Dated within 60 Days of Election
