Can A Felon Vote In North Carolina?
Individuals convicted of a felony are ineligible to vote while in prison, on parole, or on probation. Voting rights are automatically restored upon completion of all supervised release. Ex-offenders should re-register to vote.

Felons receive their voting rights again after they serve their sentence, including probation and/or parole. Like most of the other states in the US, North Carolina does not allow felons to vote while in prison or when they are outside of prison and on parole.
How Can A Felon in North Carolina Restore Their Voting Rights
If you meet the above criteria as a felon, then here are the other requirements before you can register to vote:
You are eligible to vote in North Carolina if you:
Are a U.S citizen
Are a resident of North Carolina
At 17 years of age and provided you will be 18 by the next general election.
Live in the precinct where you vote for at least 30 days prior to the election
You are NOT eligible to vote in North Carolina if:
You are registered to vote in another state
You are on parole for a felony conviction or convicted of a felony
Restorative Requirements
If you have been previously convicted of a felony crime, you may vote in North Carolina if your voting rights have been restored
To register to vote in North Carolina you should provide:
The Last Four Digits of your Social Security Number
Your North Carolina Driver’s License or State/non-driver ID Number
Your North Carolina Voter Registration Number (if known)
If you do not have any of these IDs, you can provide a copy of one of the following with your registration application:
Current and Valid Photo ID
Government Issued Document that shows your current name and address
Utility Bill
Government Check
Bank Statement
Paycheck that Shows your current name and address
You can alternatively provide one of these documents when you vote to complete your registration.
Voting In-Person
If you registered to vote in North Carolina, you may be required to present valid ID if you are voting for the first time or your registration is incomplete. You can use any ID from this list:
Current and Valid Photo ID
Utility Bill, Bank Statement, Government Check, or Paycheck that Shows your current name and address
Government Issued Document that shows your current name and address
All accepted forms of ID may be used up to one year after expiration.
