Based on total sales, Costco is ranked 15th among the largest Fortune 500 companies in the United States. Its global headquarters are located in Washington. The first warehouse of Costo was opened in Seattle in 1983, which was over 36 years ago. Through merging, the company could date to 1976 when Price Club, a former competitor was founded. In 2019 it is reported that the company owns about 770 warehouses around the world.
